Sarah wasn't magic, but she did understand power. She was rich, and that had it's advantages, but that wasn't what made her powerful. She was beautiful. Really it all came down to her being an early bloomer. She had a head start on how to manipulate men, on how to get what she wanted with a smile and a turn or a bend. She had mastered how to talk, how to move, how to coo and whine and get what she wanted when she wanted. Her magic was seduction, the art of sex without sex, the art of desire and promise, and she was slowly becoming a master of it. That's not magic you say? It's not magic to make a man sweat with a wink, or willing to do anything for you with a absent minded twist of her hair leading to her chest? It's not magic to create the false feeling of love, of passion at will?

Gladys had a different sort of magic. Gladys was too big to be beautiful, though the ads and posters would dispute that idea, it's still true that Gladys was never asked out. Mores the pity for the guys who didn't, because Gladys was amazing. She was funny, talented, a blast to be around. She could sing, like the fatty lady she was, but that's not all. She took inspiration from Melissa McCarthy, Adele, Rebel Wilson. She wanted to be just like them, but in her way, and that was her magic. She could move you with the power of her art, make you cry from her song, or laugh at any given moment. She could cause any emotion at any time, to anyone. It's the oldest and most powerful magic that exists, that of a performer, and Gladys hadn't even come into her own yet.
