(Author's Note: I just rearranged these a bit. While in the first branch, we see that Jon thinks Karyn is too good a friend to complicate the relationship, in reverse, when Tim asks him act, Karyn acts. So, the below is Jon having Karyn's feelings reacting to the situation...which I wanted to expand on.)

Jon had just got home and found his new mom (Karyn's old mom) in the living room. He tried to avoid her, as he wasn't quite sure how to fake the situation, but he'd have to face her at some point. He stepped into the living room. "Hey mom," he said, greeting her.

"Hi, sweetheart," Bethany Black replied. "Did you have a good day at school?"

Jon nodded. "Yeah mom, I did..." He paused for a long moment. "Mom?" He asked.

"Yes honey?"

"I have a date tonight with Tim. Would you mind helping me get ready?" Jon asked. While wearing Karyn's clothes now felt completely normal, he still wasn't sure if he could get dressed for a date.

"Of course sweetie. But can I ask you something?" Jon nodded, wondering what was coming. "I thought you liked Karyn." his mother asked.

Jon paused. If his new mom thought he liked Karyn, did that mean that old Karyn secretly wanted them to be more than friends? "Karyn's my best friend," Jon replied. "And Tim is a good friend too, but when he asked me out, Karyn got jealous and asked me out as well."

"What's wrong then? Boys have asked you out before."

Jon didn't even respond to that or think about it. "Karyn is my best friend, and Tim is a good friend too.If I do like one of them as a boyfriend, the other won't be our friend anymore...and if I don't like either of them..." As Jon said it, he realized how much that would hurt him and he burst out crying.

"Oh, honey!!" his mom said soothingly. Jon felt like Bethany was his mom at this moment. "Come here."

Jon sat down next to her and she pulled him into a hug. "Don't worry sweetie, I'm sure we can work this out."

Karyn doesn't cry, he thought to himself. Why am I crying? Was something more happening to him than just him becoming Karyn? Was he becoming a different sort of Karyn?
