The night before
Tiffany woke up with a start. She didn't remember drifting off. The last thing she remembered was texting her friends while she was in her room. Feeling groggy from the sleep Tiffany slowly sat up.
As she started to wake up Tiffany looked around her room only to find that she wasn't in her room. She was in her parents room, or rather her Mom's room. Her Mom and Dad had been separated for a while now. Her Mom was even beginning to start dating soon.
She climbed out of bed and slowly made her way towards her room. Why she had woken up in her Mom's room was a mystery to her. As she got to her room Tiffany paused.
Her room was empty. In fact it looked more like a spare room instead of hers. Tiffany was confused. "What's going on?" She thought to herself. Deciding to head downstairs Tiffany turned and as she did so she caught her reflection in a mirror.
Taking a moment to inspect herself Tiffany was shocked to discover that her face was completely naked! She wasn't wearing any makeup. Normally she never went anywhere without it. Instead of going to put some on however she hurried downstairs and found her mother, Cheryl Sanders, in the dining room working on something.
"Hi honey." Her mother greeted Tiffany as she spotted her enter the room. "I saw you asleep on the bed. I didn't want to wake you, you must've been really tired." Cheryl said.
Tiffany nodded. That seemed normal enough. Tiffany heard her stomach growl. "What time's dinner Cheryl?" Tiffany asked her mother not realising that she had used her first name.
"It'll be ready soon." Cheryl replied. "I left it in the oven on low. I was just working on our finances and I wanted to talk about a few things."
Tiffany nodded seeming interested. She sat down next to Cheryl. "What about our finances?" She asked.
Cheryl started going through the list. The mortgage, income, savings...Tiffany found the numbers swimming in her head, They seemed to dance around her head.
Tiffany shook her head. "Why don't you go and finish dinner honey." Tiffany suggested. "I want to look over this a bit longer.
Cheryl nodded. "Sure thing sweetheart. I'll let you know when it's ready."
