"Really!?" Richard asked surprised. Zoe nodded smiling.
Richard stood up. "Wow!" He said patting Zoe on the back. "Congratulations!"
"Thanks." Zoe said as she sat down behind her desk. She had just told Richard that her wife was pregnant. Mark wasn't in yet so she would have to wait until later to tell him.
"So what are you hoping for?" Richard asked her. Zoe looked at him confused for a moment before realising that he was asking about the gender of the baby.
Zoe shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know." She admitted. "Amanda only told me yesterday so the news is kind of still settling in." She said.
Richard nodded.
Zoe sighed. "But if I'm honest I would really like it to be a boy. I mean I could teach him loads of stuff and then maybe prepare him for one day taking over the company."
"Plus boys are a lot easier than girls." Zoe added with a grin.
They both looked at each other and then started laughing.
After a few minutes they stopped and then Richard looked at his watch.
"Well, I'd best be off." He said getting up to leave the office. At the door he stopped and turned back to Zoe.
"I'm really happy for you and Amanda." He said. "Congratulations again."
Zoe gave him a nod as he left.
