Was there anyone who did?
Sally drove Sharon over to the Miller house. They parked blocking the driveway and Sally took Sharon up the path to the house.
Emily opened the door and smiled. "Hello, Sally. Why don't you come in and have a cup of coffee and I'll call Jessica."
She called upstairs for the girl, who ran down the stairs. As soon as she did, she paused, looking at both Sally and Sharon, frowning.
"Jessica dear...Sharon is here to see you."
"Umm...umm..." the girl said.
"You girls have fun," Sally said.
"Okay, Mommy," Sharon said.
Sally and Emily headed into the kitchen, and Jessica looked at Sharon. "She's not your mommy. You're the mommy."
Sharon stared at her.
