As a Level 99 vampire, Danny Jadestone was considered a vampire king and progenitor. Appearance wise, vampires were similar to their non-vampiric species, but the exact changes their state causes vary greatly: more common effects include pale skin, glowing eyes (changing to a bright red in my case), prominent canines. Mentally, vampires could vary from perfectly normal persons with unusual dietary requirements to predatory, calculating beings, to hunger-driven blood-junkies. Generally, NPC vampires were physically imposing beings as they had excellent strength, speed, senses, endurance, agility, a near or complete ageless lifespan and a high-level resistance to damage. Other abilities included the ability to turn other beings into vampires, mental abilities, transformation into animals or mist, regeneration, and even flight. Vampires are able to learn Magic, so the variety of powers some have isn't so much result of them being vampires as their own studies. Coming back to the game would be interesting. I wanted to see how much had changed. It had been 13 years ago.

Based on the level you were, the higher ranks of the vampire elite you could rise to. At Level 15, you were no longer a powerless spawn. Until then, you were basically a grunt- nothing more than an enhanced human. After that you can make spawn of your own that follow your orders with a 25% success rate. Failure to turn a target into a spawn resulted in the Malformed. They were human's who were infected but did not completely change. They thirst for blood, but blood will kill them. Most do not live longer than 5 hours but could do serious damage. Human-Vampires were humans that were turned. They are kept away from Normal vampires and live in secret. They are killed if they are found. It did not matter who they were found by. The vampires that born vampires were much stronger and had more abilities. Vampirism was actually genetic. Normal vampires were children born with the Active Vampire Gene. That could be due to 1 vampire parent or 2 humans with a recessive vampire gene. I was a Normal vampire. They fed but did not fear the sun. They grow like humans until 21.

Containing them was hard. You could live with them for years without realizing it. The elite vampires were the offspring of two Vampires. When and if two Vampires mate their children age far more quickly and their abilities are far more advanced. They were born with scarlet eyes, but that is the only physical difference between them and normal. But their powers are far more capable. They also fear sunlight and cannot spend any time out in it. Their chance to make a spawn was 100%. Vampire lords were even stronger. At a certain point an elite could join the Vampire Council. They were made up of Elite and Pure Vampires. They make the laws that all Vampires follow. They also control the Human Vampires, Half-lings and Former Humans. They also kill Malformed when they find them. The Royal vampires came from the eldest known family of Vampires. These are the highest ranked Vampires in the world. They have the final say on everything. They never marry or mate outside the family, thus keeping the line completely clean and pure. I was a real rival in strength to the king.

I was never trying to take on the royal family. I thought that it would be too much of a pain. That being said, based on the way that time flowed in the game, it would be 1 full day for each real-world hour. That meant over 110,000 years had passed since I last logged in as Danny. That was more than enough for things to change radically. If it did not, that would be more unbelievable. When I was aware of the surroundings, it was hard for me to open up my coffin. It took some elbow grease, but I was able to get out of it. Even then, it was a tight squeeze. There was rubble and dirt covering it. Being super strong, I could burrow out of the crap covering me. I sighed and looked around. The large manor for my big family I had constructed was nothing more than a large park. I could not sense any of my kin around. Either they became powerful enough to sever ties with me, or they were dead. There were hunters, werewolves, and other vampires to consider. I walked through the park and eventually came to the gate. I was wearing white noble's robes. The architecture scheme was all the same.
