Jon Gibson finally arrived home from school, and opened his front door.
"Kaaah..."
Was someone yelling? It almost sounded like his mother's voice, but he'd never heard her sound like that.
"Meeeh..."
Jon quickly made his way to the stairs. Something was wrong.
"Haaah..."
Halfway up the stairs.
"Meeeh..."
Upstairs hallway.
"HAH!"
"Mom?" Jon was taken aback. On the opposite end of the hallway, just in front of the master bedroom door, stood his own mother, wearing orange yoga pants and an orange T-shirt with a blue sash around her waist. Her bare feet were planted, her hands cupped outwards. She almost looked like...
"I'm Goku!" Linda Gibson dropped her stance. "Gawd, Jon, you're no fun. Oh, I know!" She perked back up, "You should pretend you're Vegeta."
As much as Jon actually kind of wanted to throw a Galick Gun at his mother right then, something didn't seem right. He couldn't quite put his finger on it. Something vague and strange had happened to his mother, and he was afraid that either his stone or Sarah's shoes might be at the root of it. He would have to keep a close eye on his mom for the foreseeable--
Wait.
Had her closet always been filled with such cute clothes? Jon walked past his mom and into the master bedroom. "Can I try on some of your outfits?" The question was a courtesy, as he'd already started sorting through the clothes hangers.
"I was just doing the same thing!" Linda smiled. "Here, we should mix-and match, that's how I put together this Goku outfit." Linda was already undressing her son, "See, if you wear this longsleeve navy shirt under this white tank top," the clothes seemed to fly effortlessly, "then with those leggings you're wearing, you already look like Vegeta!"
Jon looked at himself in the full-length mirror, and had to admit that his outfit did look like Vegeta's battle armor. He was really starting to get excited about this, but there was something missing. "It's great, mom, but I need boots. Goku fights barefoot a lot, but I don't think Vegeta ever does."
Linda furrowed her brow. "I had the opposite thought when I first saw this outfit, so I took my boots off." She motioned a hand towards a pair of chestnut-colored suede Ugg boots in precisely Sarah's size. "Why don't you try them on?
