"Okay," said Jon "Let's wait a week. If we haven't switched back by then, then we can decide on a wish to get out of this predicament."
Mikey nodded. "Okay, if you think that's best."
Jon smiled and grabbed the rock. "Just in case mom and dad ask, I wish that I had homework and that it was done." With a pop a book appeared on the desk with the words 'Jon's Homework Book' written on it. He stashed the stone in his pocket and said "Wonder how things will go tomorrow?"
The next morning they got dressed and headed down to breakfast together where they found the mom just hanging up the phone.
"Are you two boy alright?" she asked concerned, "That was Mrs McMillan. She was telling me about how her son and daughter were acting strange last night - Sarah was claiming that she was supposed to be in high school and Sam was claiming that he wasn't a cheerleader. And before that Mrs Black said Karyn and Dave were acting similarly."
The boys looked at each other and shrugged.
"No idea mom," said Mikey.
"Ditto," said Jon.
Their mother sighed, "Well they managed to calm things down, but I'm just worried it's something catching and you two will get it."
They glanced at each other again, but didn't say anything. Shortly they were heading to school together. Fortunately their schools were next door to each other so they could talk on the way.
"I think we need to wish things back now Jon," said Mikey, fiddling with the strap on his satchel.
"Again, what if there's a time limit," replied Jon, shrugging his shoulders and causing his Batman backpack to bounce, "And it just makes things worse?"
Before Mikey could answer, they turned a corner and ran into Karyn and her brother.
