Of course Jon and Mikey knew nothing of this, only of their own predicament.
"Are you sure there's no way out of this?" Asked Mikey, going pale, "I'm sure you can think of something Jon - you're really smart so you just do."
"Well," said Jon, making sure he wasn't holding the stone "I suppose we could wish to switch bodies...or wish you older and me younger."
"But I'd still think like a kid and you'd think like a teenager," protested Mikey.
"Umm," replied Jon, "We could wish that we thought the right way...or wish new memories and personalities."
Mikey looked at him "Will it work?"
Jon shrugged "I don't know. I'm also a tad worried that it'll bite us in the ass even if it does...like this wish is only temporary and when it ends we'll get stuck with the new bodies or minds or whatever with no way back."
"How can it end?" asked Mikey hopefully, "you said wishes are permanent."
Jon shook his head "No, I said they can't be unwished, as in if you wish something you can't use another wish to change it back. But you can modify wishes, like...if I wished you were the older brother and it made me ten and you seventeen, then I could wish myself to be sixteen, or wish that I was seventeen and the younger twin, because those things don't contradict the first wish."
Mikey nodded. "Okay, but how could this wish go back?"
Jon shrugged "I don't know...I don't remember how the wish was worded. Maybe I worded it in such a way to make us go back after a while. I don't know..." He sighed.
They stared at each other, wondering what to do.
