What I liked about IS was that it was (And I hate to use tropese) a deconstruction and reconstruction of the transformation genre. Yeah some of the cliches were there (if not all of them), but the main casts were just ordinary normal people, getting by their life as change happened. Extremists while there, were very rare and an exception- and often not greatly delved upon as 'villains' so much as people with a past. eg Anneza.
It was also relatively optimistic, without characters being 'bad ass' in a way that is just so prevalent in today's media.
The only flaw I found in it personally (Which is something I hoped I addressed in my additions) was the idea that a person when changed has had their limits set- and those who transformed and gained power, were 'chosen'. A rather unfair situation IMO and had to be balanced out.
I think we did well to attack this problem in two directions. The 'chosen' were not the chosen, they simply are what they are if I understand nothingsp's writings.
With Lilly, I wanted to explore the idea of potential and demonstrate that everyone was capable of it if they persevered- (having an angel friend did help though!) I might explore this further in the sequel.
Anyway... you are free to do whatever you like really, just wanted you to understand that a lot of thought and consideration went into how the characters acted, and why they are what they are, and why to me the story works well.
