Confused they followed the men to a black people carrier and got in. The drive was short and they quickly arrived at a new lab that had opened on the outskirts of town recently.
"Hey I know this place," said Trevor as they were driven into the below ground parking complex, "My dad's told me about it. They're some rival firm that's been stealing government contacts from his company."
"Whoah," said Biff, "You think this is like top secret research?"
"Making people pets?" Sniggered Karyn, "Sounds more like mad science than spy stuff."
Before they could discuss any more the car stopped and they were ushered out and to one of the labs. On the counter were five clipboards. A white coated scientist motioned them to sit on the stools next to the clipboards and cleared his throat.
"I'm sure you're all wondering what's going on," he smiled, "Well, ever wondered what it's like to be a pet? Nows your chance. Please fill in the questionnaires so we can tailor the experience to you. From your answers we'll be able to work out which pet is best for you and which of our trial methods you'll each be testing. You might all get the same, but I'm hoping you all get a different animal and/or method."
Biff raised his hand "What animals can we pick from?"
The scientist shook his head "you don't pick. The tests will allow us to find your best match, but if you want to know, the possibilities are dog, cat, mouse, hamster, snake, lizard, and frog."
Sarah raised her hand. "And the methods?"
The scientist grinned, enjoying explaining. "My my that's a question, where to begin? Hmm, well firstly there's mind transfer - we swap your mind with a viable recipent. It's kinda b-movie but it works. Next there's transformation serum. That has two varieties - full animal or anthro. Hmm, next? Hmm that'll be fursut - we'll make you a fursuit, you know sort of like a mascot outfit, but better. The next alternative is partial fursuit - you'll get a tail and ears and maybe paw gloves/socks. The last one and most popular for some reason is a hypno collar - while you wear it people see you as that animal; we usually include that in with the fursuits and anthro methods, but it works just as well on its own."
They stared at him in disbelief. Seeing this he grinned and pulled a dog collar from his pocket and fastened it around his neck. Their vision blurred and suddenly in his place, wearing his clothes was a labrador. The dog barked at them then reached up with a paw to remove the collar, and suddenly he was back.
"Cool," commented Trevor.
