It was billed as "The Cat Pack", "The Dark Horse", a dogkin, a drider and a couple of harpies against 3 elves, 3 humans, and 4 dwarves. Aside from Clover and us, it was a bunch of no-names. The drider had only been in 1 other fight before. This also happened to be Clover's ninth fight. If he won, it would not be long before the final match between him and Alvin. That was a big deal. It probably meant that these enemies were going to be pretty strong as well. I was not confident that we were going to all make it. Clover gathered us together and told us to let him be the leader. No one wanted to challenge his authority in this matter. He had long since gained the respect of all the demi-humans in the pits. "Listen to me and I will lead you to victory. It is the least I can do." he said. We nodded and got ready to fight it off. When we got ready for the match. Having a good fight would be better for all of us. We decided to listen and follow his directions. When we got on the field, we were introduced and so was the enemy side. The horn went off and it was time to go execute the plan. We had it now.

My part of the plan was to go forward with the rest of the "Cat Pack" and get the dwarves distracted. They were great with the crossbows that they had. Our shields were able to block the bolts as we charged them. That kept all of them in check. The harpies took to the air with their claws and began swooping in to attack them. Clover and the dogkin were in for the main attack. Clover had a pair of longswords and galloped towards the enemies in order to route them. The dogkin followed it up with his axe. I was proud of our work. The drider provided support from the back with a bow and arrow. We were like a well maintained and regulated militia. We won the fight and I got my sixth win. Clover got his ninth. Things were looking up for him. We went back to the pits and Camus was there. He had 4 wins and he said "So, all the kitty boys were fine today." "If you want to fight, we can fight. Just say which of us you want 1 on 1." Chonmo snapped. He looked all of us over and choose Anda. Anda puffed out his chest and hissed "Fine! I'll take you down a notch." They were the second to last match.

Now that they were gone, we were wondering what would happen. Only certain slaves had a scrying device to let them see what was going on. It was a perk of winning prizes in special fights or buying it with money. How they got the money was beyond me, but they had it. What happened was irrelevant. At the end of the match, Camus came back. Anda did not. We waited for him, but he never came back. Eventually, the head slaver came over to get us. "Where is Anda!? His match is over!" Chonmo demanded. The slaver sighed and said "Follow me. I'll take you to him." We had to go up to the ground floor to see his broken body. Everyone gasped and cried. This is a shock to anyone that liked him. This was hard for me too. We were friends and we had to be there as he was buried in the graveyard behind the colosseum. The others were in despair. I wanted revenge and told the slavers I wanted a 1 on 1 with Camus the next day. They just smiled and said "Of course you can, but not tomorrow. The people always love grudge matches. People will be taking about this for a while." Fine.
