Linda Madison pulled up in front of her house and got out of the car. She spotted Leonard Drullers, the boy next door, and hurried over. "Leonard, is your mother at home?"
Leonard watched his neighbor, Mrs. Madison, come closer. "No," he said. "She'll be home in about an hour, I think."
"Good, because I need to talk to her about something," she said, coming close enough to him to touch.
He nodded.
"Are you feeling all right? You look a little pale," Mrs. Madison told him.
