Jon was looking out of his bedroom window for wish inspiration and saw his neighbour Mrs. Sheridan getting out of her pool. It wasn't a particularly pleasant sight. Mrs. Sheridan was about 30 years old, severely overweight, and did not look good in a swimsuit. Jon knew she was trying to lose some weight but it seemed she had a severe lack of willpower. Every day Jon saw her get into the pool and do just a couple of lengths, before giving up and having a rest. He also regularly saw her eating very unhealthy food when he was at the mall.

This gave Jon an idea for a wish that would help his neighbour, and improve the view. He decided to make his wish apply across the whole of town to help as many people as he could, and the extra eye candy wouldn't be bad either.

"I wish that every teenage girl and adult woman in this town would be a healthy weight, have a good level of fitness and would find it easy to find the willpower and self-motivation to exercise regularly and eat healthily to maintain it."

There was a flash and Jon found himself forced to look away from the window for a second.

He looked back out of the window, still in search of inspiration for his first wish. He was distracted for a minute, staring at his hot neighbour Mrs. Sheridan who was just emerging from the water in her backyard pool. The water droplets on her slim, toned body were glistening in the early evening sun. She was looking stunning in a sexy but functional 2 piece swimsuit. Jon was broken out of his reverie when she wrapped a towel around herself and walked into the house.

Looking the other way towards the street, Jon could see a few women (and one man) out jogging. Nothing unusual there, thought Jon. The women of this town kept themselves in shape and it was common to see many out jogging at this time of day. He didn't understand where they got the energy from.

A minute earlier, a mile or so away, Jon's obese classmate Gladys Brewer was munching on a Mars bar as a snack while she waited in the queue for her dinner at McDonald's. The queue had a long one tonight and she kept chocolate bars in her bag for emergency snacks if she got hungry waiting for her regular meals, like now. Fortunately she was next. As she moved forward, the greasy haired young woman behind the counter, a little overweight herself, asked Gladys what she would like. That was easy. Gladys always got the same thing at McDonald's. Big Mac, McChicken Sandwich, 20 Nuggets, large Coke, large fries and a large McFlurry. She opened her mouth to give the order and everyone in the restaurant blinked at the same time.

Gladys closed her mouth and shook her head. Dizzy for a second. Then she felt ok again.

"Can I see your membership card please," repeated the receptionist.

"Oh of course. Sorry about that," said Gladys and handed over the card with the name MacDONALD'S HEALTH CLUB and VEGAN RESTAURANT emblazoned in shiny letters across the front. The pretty, young, receptionist with immaculately styled hair swiped it and handed it back.

"Welcome to MacDonald's Miss Brewer. I hope you have an enjoyable session."

Gladys smiled and thanked her and replaced the membership card in the end pocket of the gym bag that hung over her shoulder, resting against her perfectly sculpted hips. She thought it was a bit silly that they needed to see her card every time. She'd been a member since her 13th birthday, over 5 years ago and came in nearly every day. It's not like the receptionists didn't know her, but she guessed it was just the procedure.

Unbeknownst to Jon, or anyone else, over half of the fast food restaurants in town had disappeared, with half the population no longer having any interest in them. In their place, gyms, health food shops and healthy restaurants had come into being in an instant. Meanwhile back at Jon's house, he was still looking for inspiration for that 'first' wish.
