She knocked a few times on the thin part of the door, and it just swung open. Like there had been nothing holding it in place. And she gasped when she saw inside.
The house looked like it was two different houses in one. Most of it looked to be a normal house. But there were parts that looked the same as the door...simpler. The same out of place colors she'd seen on part of the door.
She drew her gun and headed toward the living room, where the boy said he'd seen his friends. It was spotless and sterile...but it looked almost completely transformed. But no one seemed to be around.
It looked like...a model home maybe. Too perfect and staged for real people to live in, except for the colors. She had this odd feeling. Something about this felt so...familiar. Like a memory she couldn't place.
She turned back toward the door, and opened it. "Kurt, there is something weird going on in here. But no talking dolls. Can you..." Suddenly, she felt herself being pulled back from the door, which slammed closed behind her. She reached for her gun.
Outside, Officer Kurt Maybourn grabbed his radio, calling for backup before running to investigate. He saw his partner being pulled back, but he hadn't seen by what.
