"Sorry," Karyn said. "I'll keep an eye out. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary so far."
"I'll see you later," Jon said. They didn't share any classes this year, so they could go much of the day without seeing each other, except, if lucky, in the hallway.
They went their separate ways. As Karyn headed to class, she passed by Zoe and Athena, heading toward the exit. Zoe seemed to be pushing Athena for some reason. But Karyn gave her friend's sister a wide berth. She wasn't exactly friendly, most of the time.
