Sitha wasn’t sure how much sleep he had gotten when noises woke him from his sleeping, but he quickly brought his sword to the ready but he quickly realized there was no one living moving around the building as he saw a spectral figure run past the door. The warrior pulled out some jerky and tore a large chunk off and started to eat as he decided what to do next.
He gently touched his wound to get a sense of the healing that had occurred and found it to still be very tender. No heavy efforts should be done until it healed more but he wasn’t comfortable sticking around here with the dead on the move. Ghosts of lizard men were loved and respected for the knowledge, and wisdom they could tell you and were never known to harm the living as they were dead and belonged to that world, but as in many things, humans were different.
Many tales of the harm ghosts could cause had been told to him in his travels, and it seemed to him that humans were unwilling to give up on the lives they had lived. They were often determined to have revenge even after they had died instead of moving on with the cycle of life as determined by the fates. Sitha could see that it brought many of them great accomplishments that were thought impossible, but it rarely brought them happiness. They never seemed able to settle down and enjoy life, there was always some new goal to achieve.
It was best not to linger with all of these restless ghosts around searching to undo what had been done to them. He cautiously moved towards the place he had come in and hoped the spirits were just replaying the last tragic moments of their lives. Perhaps with his reward, he could see about the shamans putting these people to rest. They didn’t deserve to spend the rest of time stuck here.
As he moved to go down the rope a sight at the end of the hall caught his eye. A female ghost with long dark hair was staring at him. She started walking towards him with a purpose and he debated running from this intelligent ghost or trying to talk to it. Either choice had danger involved with it, but he was going to lose the chance to run if he didn’t go soon.
