Sitha decided to gamble on the Prince being inside the building and rush an attack. Most of the people in the compound would think they were under attack, not realizing it was an assassin they were dealing with. The wood was old and rotten with time so with a powerful slamming of his shoulder against the door splintered and opened to reveal a man dressing in his armor looking up in surprise. He wore the herald markings of the Prince and he reacted quickly to the intruder lifting his blade to a defensive position.

The Prince of a more civilized kingdom might not be trained in the proper use of arms, but the Kingdom of Dar needed every fighting hand it could get. A quick slash of the blade drew blood from the lizardman but the warrior prince was careful to not over extend himself. This was going to be a dangerous battle even for the seasoned warrior Sitha. The human was leaving itself open but the creature would not take the bait because it could sense the trap instead the assassin decided to offer a trap of it’s own. Sitha brought the long sword down with both hands driving for the shoulder but leaving his belly open and the man took the bait using his free hand to place a dagger in the belly of the lizardman, but as Sitha winced with pain he made his move and the human realized his error too late.

The powerful reptile jaws tore deeply into the soft vulnerable flesh of the human throat. Most humans were used to fighting human and other creatures that were unable to make powerful bite attacks. It was a mistake to leave yourself open to the bite of a lizardman the Prince thought as his blood streamed from his throat even as he tried to stop it. Sitha had stepped back from his opponent to let him die so he could look to his own wound. He bound it as best he could before someone came to check on the Prince but it didn’t look good. He felt sluggish as he struck the head from the shoulders of the corpse in from of him and made his way out of the camp.

He wished he had observed the area better for likely hideouts where he could hold up and heal after killing the Prince but he had not. The death of Royalty never came without consequences and he was likely to have the rest of the camp chase him and who new how many others. He had some hard choices ahead of him.
