"Why didn't you tell me he was like that?" Steve asked his assistants, as they made their way to the elevator.
"As far as I knew, he wasn't," Marcy tried to explain. "Believe me, sir. I would have said something."
After they got into the elevator, Steve said "I can't believe we almost did business with that freak." Suddenly, he stopped and blinked.
"Sir, are you okay?" the other assistant (Ben) asked.
"I ... I think so," Steve said. He looked down at himself and then didn't look okay at all. "What am I wearing?" he asked. He was absolutely sure that he walked into that office building wearing his best skirt suit and blouse. So how did he get into these man's clothes? He started to get red with embarrassment. He obviously looked ridiculous in these clothes. His reputation was probably ruined after this. How could anyone ever take him seriously again?
"Mr. Renner?" Marcy asked. "Are you alright?"
"Marcy. You have an extra outfit in the car, right?"
"No, just one for me. If my outfit gets ruined."
"Yes, that's what I mean. Do you think I could borrow it? I've got to get out of these clothe before someone see me in them."
Marcy and Ben exchanged odd glances.
"What do you mean? There's nothing wrong with what you're wearing," Ben said.
"What? Are you blind? I'm wearing men's clothing."
"And ... what's wrong with that?" Marcy asked.
Steve looked back and forth between the two of them. Had they lost their minds? What's wrong with it? What wasn't wrong with it? They weren't women's clothes, obviously!
