Assuming that their phone numbers were the same in this new reality, Kyla tapped in the number for Andy.
She had everything on speed-dial. But considering that Amber (who Andy used to be) was a very close friend, she knew her phone number by heart, just in case she needed to call her and her phone was either damaged or missing.
Kyla punched in the number and hit send. After a few rings, a familiar voice answered. It was one she heard not too long ago at the mall.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Andy. It's Kyla. I was just wondering. You wanna hang out with me tomorrow?"
"You mean ... like a date?" he asked.
"No, nothing like that. I ... I just want to get to know you better. Bring your friend ... what's his name? Eric?"
"Yeah ... Eric."
"So what do you say?" Kyla asked.
There was a long pause. "Okay, sure."
"Good. See ya tomorrow."
Andy ended the call and looked at his cellphone. What was all that about? And what exactly had he agreed to? He felt like he was somehow being manipulated, but he wasn't exactly sure for what reason. Kyla didn't just hang out with guys. Girls, yes. But not guys. His biggest question, though, was - how had Kyla gotten his phone number? As far as he knew, he had never given it to her. Maybe Mel gave it to her? If so, why? Wasn't he the one that was interested in her? He shook his head, putting it behind him. He yawned. He'd just deal with it in the morning.
