"You have a lab partner?" Mel asked Kyla.
"Even cheerleaders take science class," Kyla said. She cleared her throat. "So, what do you say? Can we join you?"
"The mall's closing soon, so we won't be here long. But, yeah. I think we could use a little company until then. What do you say guys?"
Eric and Andy nodded.
Smiling, Kyla took a seat next to Mel. And Sarah took a seat between the other two boys. Kyla looked from one boy to the next, noticing that even though they looked average, they still had similar hereditary similarities to their former selves. Like Mel, who used to be Melissa. His hair was blond. And Eric, who used to be Erika. His hair was brown and his eyes were still green. And then there was Andy, who used to be Amber. His hair was light brown and he had that same round face that Amber had. But despite all of the similarities, there seemed to be way more differences - above all else (of course) was their gender.
"So, who were you meeting here?" Mel asked Kyla. He wanted to get a conversation started.
