"I'm not sure what is bothering her," Jenny told Benny.
Benny put a supportive hand on her shoulder. "She's just acting out. Little girls do that, Jenn."
"I guess," Jenny said. She yawned. "I don't know why I'm so tired tonight." It might have been past a little girl's bedtime, but not hers. "I was going to watch a little TV, but I can barely keep my eyes open."
"Why don't we go to bed early?" Benny suggested. "It's been a long week."
The two climbed into bed together, and fell asleep wrapped in each others arms.
Karen, by comparison, was tossing and turning. She wasn't tired in the least, and trying to fall asleep in a little girl's room was not helping. Finally, she drifted off to sleep.
