Sally finished getting dressed and hurried downstairs. Completely ignoring Zoe, she went to get herself a breakfast bar.
She was dressed in a pair of heeled sandals and a rather skimpy dress. The whole outfit would normally not be on a girl her age...unless they were competing in a rather tasteless child beauty pageant.
"Good morning, Sally," Zoe said.
"Morning," she said, distractedly. "Where's the fat-free milk?" She asked, rooting around for it.
Zoe sighed, wearily. "Right in the fridge. Can't you sit down and eat like normal people? I mean, everyone will come down eventually."
"I'm in a hurry. I'm going to be picked up any minute. Besides, eat with who? Linda is like...a total spaz."
Zoe decided to leave that aside for now. "How about me? How about you have a pleasant conversation with me for like, five seconds?"
"Whatever," Sally said, rooting around for the rest of her breakfast, but not talking.
Zoe sighed again. Sally hadn't always been like this. Maybe she'd grow out of being impossible to be around. Zoe couldn't imagine why anyone would even want to act that way. She'd never been that way when she was younger, had she?
