Leonard had no idea what he was going to do. He'd panicked and ran when he heard his mother coming toward his room. Surprisingly, he'd gone several blocks and wasn't at all winded...although he did have another problem with running he didn't know what to do.
He finally calmed down enough to realize he was still in trouble. He turned the corner. He needed help, and he was only a block or two from the house of the smartest guy he knew, Jay Duncan.
He rang the doorbell, and fortunately, it was Jay who answered it. "Can I help you?" He asked.
"Jay, it's me, Leonard...Leonard Drullers," he said, very fast. "I woke up looking like this, and I panicked, and I don't know what to do, and I need your help."
Jay had a tendency to be oblivious sometimes. "Do you know you aren't wearing any shoes?"
Leonard screamed silently. "Jay...please help me."
Jay shrugged. "You say you're Leonard. Can you tell me something only he would know?"
"We were playing a game online last night..." he began to describe the details.
Jay blinked. "Fascinating," he said, in a credible Spock imitation. "You'd better come inside..." he frowned.
"Jay," his mother's voice called. "Who is at the door?"
"It's just Leonard, Mom," Jay called back. "He has a problem and he needs my help."
"That's nice, dear. I'm leaving for work in a few minutes. Try not to be late for school. I know you get distracted."
Leonard didn't relax till they were inside Jay's room.
