His mom took a sip from her coffee and then sneered at Zoe. "Why can't you just dress like a normal girl?" she asked.
"Because I don't want to be normal, that's why," Zoe said. "Look at all of you. Dressed in black all the time? You're all the same. Just one big mass of black. Doesn't it bother you that you've lost your identity?"
Did that mean that the whole town was changed? Because the last time Jon checked, there weren't that many Goths around.
"I don't care about my fucking identity," Jon's mom said. Jon's eyes went wide. His mother never talked like that. And she generally wasn't as ticked off as this either.
