Smiling, Jon entered the sickbay. He was actually going to meet the holographic doctor. Robert Picardo (the actor who played the doctor) was one of the show's highlights, in Jon's opinion.
But the person he saw wearing the blue and black medical uniform wasn't Robert Picardo. Instead, it was Karyn! And she filled out the uniform much better than the normal balding doc.
"Jon! What's going on? I tried to leave this room, but my arms disappeared when I stepped into the corridor," Karyn said, frantically.
"Oh my god, Karyn, you're the holographic doctor," he said. Specifically, the doctor was called the Emergency Medical Hologram, or EMH for short.
"Holographic what?" she asked. "Jon, what's going on?"
"Short story? The wishing stone."
"Jon, what did you do?"
"I just wished that something interesting would happen. I didn't think the stone would grant the wish like this."
"Where are we? It kind of looks familiar."
"We're in the TV series 'Star Trek: Voyager'."
"That's why it looks familiar. Are we starring on the show or is it all real?"
"Do you see any cameras? No, this is real. Believe it or not. And we're not alone. Other people are here too. Like Sarah and Biff. There could be even more people, but I don't know. I'd have to walk around and check."
"And what am I supposed to do while you're touring the ship? If you haven't noticed, I can't leave this room."
"Oh, yeah," Jon said. He looked around the room and then reached for small box. He opened it and retrieved a small metal thing. "This is a mobile emitter. The doctor uses it to leave the sickbay." He placed it on Karyn's arm. "Okay, now you can leave."
