He jumped back and dropped the remote on the couch, then ran back upstairs to his bedroom. He wanted to get as far away from that TV as possible. It was obvious by now that this had something to do with that wish he made for something interesting to happen, but since the wish was so vague, he wasn't sure he could un-wish it. He just hoped that the wish only applied to this one time and it wouldn't happen again. He didn't think he could give up watching TV for the rest of his life.
Downstairs, Mikey, oblivious to the previous happenings, sat down on the couch and turned on the TV, turning it to a cartoon. He liked this one. It wasn't a superhero one like some of his other cartoons. The main characters were all high school students, like his brother and sister...but all sorts of interesting things happened.
As he sat there, he suddenly felt like something was pulling him toward the TV. He pushed back. The screen rippled and shimmered. Mikey, panicking, mashed the remote control, which flew out of his hand into the TV...and onto the floor next to Beatrice, the little sister of one of the characters on the show, who picked it up.
Mikey stared. A 'real' remote was somehow inside the TV. "Hey," he shouted. He didn't feel sucked toward the television anymore, so he moved toward it and touched the screen. Nothing. Normal.
Beatrice ran out of the scene, and the show switched to another view. Mikey just stared at the TV, gaping, wondering what just happened...and not knowing what would happen next.
