Emily should normally have memories of her life, but it has been impossible to alter Emily's mind in any way due to one of Jon's wish, that unfortunately include adding new memories. I didn't realize the memories hadn't been correctly given before now.

This encyclopedia contains everything Emily should have know at the beginning of the game and is only accessible to her. I apologize for any trouble this might have caused.

"So you can't read it, Karyn?" Emily asked after reading the message.

"No." Karyn answered while looking through her menu. "It looks like this is only for you this time."

Emily smiled. Getting something that Karyn didn't instead of the other way around made her happy for some reason. "Well, let's look at it." She opened the encyclopedia and found it was organized with folders inside folders inside folders... It contained the entire life of Emily, every small detail the game had created for her were inside this encyclopedia. "It's going to take forever to find something if there is no search function..." Emily complained, prompting the game to answer once again.

Just ask the encyclopedia what you want to know.

"Oh... Hum... Okay. Then can you show me the informations about my brother?" Emily asked and the encyclopedia got instantly to the right page:

Arman, your twin brother, is almost your opposite in term of appearance. He is a very feminine man, looking as much like a girl as you look like a boy. However, unlike you, he was never happy with his situation and tried to find ways to become more masculine. All of his attempts failed, but he left your hometown and the farm 2 years ago to follow a new lead. You haven't heard much from him ever since, but one of his friend informed you and your parents of his disappearance a week ago.

Emily read this summary to Karyn. It was only the first few lines, but the whole page rivaled the longest Wikipedia articles in length. Most notably was a photo of what looked like a cute girl with short hair and dressed like a boy, probably Arman. Otherwise, it was full of details about his life and what Emily knew or believes about him, most of them useless. "That doesn't really give us any clues to where he might have gone, but at least we know what his objective was." Emily said. "I just hope he won't make me more feminine in the process..."

"Did you find anything that looked like it could make a guy more masculine when you were cleaning his house?" Karyn asked.

"I don't think so..." Emily replied. "There were many things, but I don't think I've seen anything like that. There wasn't even a dumbbell, so I don't think he was using normal means, but there was nothing magical either."

"Maybe something in this forest helped him?" Karyn proposed.

"Whatever it is, it looks like it's magic." Emily said as she began walking again through the mist of magic toward the forest. She'll look at the encyclopedia later.

A thick mist of magic was pouring out of the forest through the trees, giving it an eerie appearance. It wasn't enough to impede Emily's vision for now, but that might change once she steps into the forest and the trees start blocking the moonlight. "I should have taken a candle with me back at the house..." Emily said while looking inside the forest.

"We can go back to fetch one." Proposed Karyn. "The forest will not disappear."

Emily shook her head. "But the magic might. It wasn't here yesterday, so we can't be sure when it'll stop." She said as she began walking through the trees. "But you might need to guide me if the magic become really thick and I can't see anything."

"I'll try, but I won't see anything either if it gets too dark."

Emily nodded as she made her way through the trees. The forest wasn't one of those clean, man-made one. There were many brambles and nettles everywhere and the dress she was wearing was far from ideal to protect her legs against them. But that had the advantage of making the trail her brother supposedly made way easier to follow as it was the only path where they didn't grow. By chance, it seemed to lead where the magic was coming from. However, that didn't stop Emily from getting stung by some of these plants along the way. The pain was dulled just like with her fight with the rat, but it still made her lose 2HPs. "How is that fair?!" Emily complained loudly as she examined her status window that now displayed 22/24HP, but it was mostly to distract herself from the fact she was now walking alone in a spooky forest where a monster could appear at any moment. "It's not like I could have done anything to protect my legs, I only have these clothes!"

"J...Emily! Wait." Karyn suddenly called. "There's light ahead."

Emily didn't notice immediately, the magic had become so thick it could now be called a fog, but it soon became visible to her too as she continued walking. "Can you see what is making that light?" She asked, eager to get out of the dark, but not foolish enough to run toward any light without knowing what awaited her.

"No. I see you from above. I can't see too far in any direction." Karyn explained, but she then thought of something. "Unless... Can you show me what's ahead of Jon?" She asked, and the screen disappeared from the sky and reappeared behind Emily, startling her.

"Oh fuck!" Emily shouted as she jumped in surprise. "Since when can you do that?"

Karyn smiled awkwardly. "Sorry. I... I think it was in a tutorial... and I had forgotten about it until now." She lied. She couldn't explain where she really learned it without revealing her voyeurism.

"Warn me next time, please..." Emily said as she breathed heavily. "Especially if we're in a dark unknown place like this..."

Karyn was going to apologize again, but she finally looked at what was emitting the light. "J... Emily! Go to the light! You have to see that."

Emily was still trying to calm herself but didn't object. She didn't want to stay in the dark any longer. As she approaches the source of the light, she understood Karyn's outburst. Before her stood what looked like a huge temple made entirely of marble, and the light ,as well as the magic was coming from inside.
