She looked up at him. "Before I messed everything up...I was your brother, Mikey," she said, softly. "Now...I'm so confused. Every time I try to fix it, it gets worse. I don't know what happened to Zoe, but I've taken her place somehow. You were gone until just now, and everything..." She trailed off, starting to cry.
Jon was still in the dark as to what had happened to him, but he tried to comfort Mikey as best he could. He was still his, or her big brother, wasn't he? "Tell me exactly what happened."
"I found the stone in your room," she said. "I thought it was cool, and...I went to go see Zoe, and you know how she is, and she kicked me out of her room. So, I wished...but I didn't know I was holding a wishing stone, that I understood why Zoe acted the way she did. And...suddenly...I was her. Goth and everything. So, I wished I was me again...and...suddenly I'm not just like Zoe anymore, I'm me, but not real me. This me. 14-year old girl me. I think because the normal me couldn't understand Zoe. Not fully."
She paused. "I stopped then, to figure things out. And Mom came home, and she calls me Michelle, as if I've been like this all along." She took a breath, trying to calm herself. "And everyone else calls me Mickey instead of Mikey. They don't remember me having a sister named Zoe."
