"Excuse me, Mrs. Madison?" the reporter asked.
"Huh? How ... how did I get here? I was at home ..." Linda trailed off, wondering what must have happened. One moment, she was on the couch watching her favorite legal drama, then the next, she was standing just outside city hall.
"We're live," the reporter said.
Linda got pulled back to reality with those words and that's when she noticed the camera pointed right at her. "I ... I don't think this is the best time for an interview," she said.
The reporter looked puzzled. "What are you talking about? You're the one who asked for this interview, to set the record straight about your client."
"My client? I'm only a secretary. I don't have clients."
The reporter looked oddly at her. "Maybe you're right. You seem a little confused at the moment. Maybe we should reschedule." She turned to walk away, but Linda grabbed her arm.
"Can you please tell me what's going on?" she asked the reporter.
"What's going on is that your client is on trial for murder and you suddenly don't seem to care." Then the reporter and the cameraman walked away.
"What's going on?" Linda whispered to herself.
