She put the stone down where she'd found it. "Come on, we're going for a walk," she said, excited. She'd see what these new hind legs and 'hands' could do.
She ran down the stairs. Jon dashed after her, afraid of what she'd do if left alone to wander the streets. She might get lost, or worse. She wasn't exactly capable of being on her own.
Outside, Sydney started to run down the street, followed by Jon, who wasn't used to running for pleasure. The neighborhood looked so different with Jon's head so low to the ground. It was as if he'd entered an alien world.
Sydney, meanwhile, was enjoying what she thought of as her new hind legs when she heard someone call her name, and stopped abruptly, turning in that direction.
It was the big male from next door. "Hi," she said back.
"Going for a run?" Leonard asked her.
"Yes. I like running." Sydney said, innocently.
Jon moved to watch them, afraid that Sydney would tell Leonard exactly what was going on. He wasn't sure what Leonard remembered Sydney as, but he didn't seem to think anything was strange about talking to a dog girl.
Leonard's hand reached down to pet his head and Jon backed away, still not liking it. That caused Leonard to look at him with suspicion.
