On the couch, Linda began to fidget uncomfortably, for no particular reason. She was having trouble getting comfortable. She slipped off her shoes and turned on the news.
"Vice President Palin gave the commencement speech at Temple University today. She vowed to continue to repeal the results of eight years of Democratic mismanagement and return the country to..." =Wait a minute...= Linda focused on the TV. "In other news, retailed F.W. Woolworth and Company reported record sales..."
Linda gaped...not knowing that the house and all its occupants had suddenly been dislocated into a parallel universe.
(Author's Note: I'm not being political and I don't want this idea to become political. I'd rather focus on changes in the town than the national scene. I just wanted the big changes to shock them too. I thought about several alternate Presidents/VPs..ie Clinton instead of Obama. I just decided to go with the obvious...Republicans won after an 8 year Democratic run White House as opposed to vice versa.)
