Not knowing what else to do, and finding the door locked, he rang the doorbell. The door opened.
"Did you forget your key?" an unfamiliar woman with an accent asked.
"Umm..." Jon said, confused.
She didn't really wait for an answer. But suddenly he recognized the house. How had he gotten to Sarah's house? Sarah lived much farther away than he had thought he walked. He'd never actually been inside her house. He'd driven by once.
The woman wasn't Sarah's mother. Probably her maid. Sarah's mom wasn't the type to do housework.
