"I know you...you work at the coffee house on the other side of the mall, don't you?" Sarah's clothes reformed into a simple black uniform, with the nametag 'Sarah' on it and a note that she'd been an employee since this year.
"Yeah, but it's just my Daddy teaching me a lesson. I really don't need to work there," Sarah said, defensively.
"It's not like you have better options, dropping out of high school and all," Zoe told her.
"I did not drop out...I'm just...taking a break," Sarah said, defensively.
"For how long...you've been working there for like ten years..." The nametag shimmered, ten years being removed from the year she started. And being as the place didn't hire anyone under 18, Sarah suddenly turned 28.
"Why is this any of your business?"
"This is just the first time I've seen you outside of work."
Sarah suddenly looked at her watch. "Shit...I'd better get back." she hurried off.
Karyn leaned over. "What was that about?" She whispered.
"I'll tell you later." Maybe at the coffee house.
