Saturday came around and there was not much to do. Tyler, Greg and Alex came over to his room. They wanted to play some of the board games that Elijah's family had sent up to him. He was not that into them, so he let anyone go at it if they asked. Since he wanted to distract himself, he readily joined in. Because he was joining, they decided to stay in the room. They spent a few rounds on the games that the others wanted to play. There was a quick exchange of money when Greg won the first round of the game. Elijah did not care because he was not included in the bet. After a few more rounds, Tyler was out of money and the others wanted more. "C'mon. I don't have anymore. I'll have it by next week." "Yeah yeah. I've heard that before." Greg said with a roll of his eyes. "You shouldn't have been in the game then." Alex added. It was a tough spot he was in. Tyler looked at Elijah and asked for a small loan of $50. "If I did that, everyone would have everyone going to me for money everyday." he said. Tyler hung his head as he tried to think of a solution. Alex seemed to have one.
The Sophomore looked at the Freshman and said "I could look past this for a certain favor." Tyler, eager to not be in debt, looked at him and asked what it was. Alex just smiled and said "It's not everyday that you get to be with a real Lock. I heard that it's great." Everyone understood what that meant. Elijah was going to step in on Tyler's behalf when Greg said "If you are offering, I'll wipe the slate clean for sure." "Hey. We are here to support each other, not make each other into sex slaves. Tyler is the only one who decides who he has sex with." Elijah said with a deep frown on his face. As an upperclassman and a Key, his words carried a lot more weight. Tyler nodded and said "Sorry guys. I have a girlfriend at home waiting for me and I want to be there for her, you know. I'll get you that money by the end of next week. Promise." Alex and Greg had no choice but to accept that at this point. "I hope you know this means that your debt is only going to go up if you keep playing." Greg warned him as they all got ready for another round. Tyler nodded and they all started up a new game.
Under the pressure of rising debt, Alex was actually a much more dangerous and strategic player. He was able to lower his total owed a small amount. Everyone enjoyed the competition. themselves for a couple more rounds before they called it a day. Tyler was still in debt, but not that much compared to where he started out. When they were finished cleaning up, Tyler made sure to thank Elijah again for the assistance. Elijah waved it off and said "I didn't do anything. I just reminded everyone what we're all about." Tyler nodded and left. Elijah turned on the t.v. and looked at what was on. When he had found that an interesting show was on, he decided to watch it. It was a comedy show about a trio of best friends with superpowers. Elijah found it to be quite funny. However, as the episodes went on, the main big bad evil guys were a group of Locks and Keys that tried to attack and deceive all the heroes. That made him feel a bit uncomfortable and he switched the channel. They were just so cartoonishly sexualized and evil, that it was repulsive to him. The next show was a game show.
It turned out to be a good palate cleanser for Elijah. He watched it and then left his room for some food. The frat house had it's own kitchen so any member could cook a meal there for themselves or for others. Elijah hoping that there would be something for him to eat. He was disappointed when he found nothing. Looking around, he realized that he was going to have to settle for a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. He found a bowl from the cupboard and got the milk from the fridge. He poured the dry cereal into the bowl first. He was not a savage. After that, he poured the milk until the cereal floated to the rim of the bowl. He opened up one of the small drawers next to the sink and looked inside. That was where the cutlery was stored. He picked out a spoon with a red ceramic grip. Elijah was not needed anywhere, so he started to eat on the counter. There were a few bowls and plates waiting in the sink to be washed along with the used cutlery. He hated washing dishes, so he always made sure to go wash his own as soon as he used it. As an upperclassman, he no longer had to worry.
