After entering the kitchen, Jon got a bit of a shock. At first, he thought that his mother was back to normal. But it wasn't her face. It looked similar, but it was different. His fake mother was Zoe, his sister. This must have been what she'd look like as an adult, minus all her gothic stuff.
"Jon, we're going to have to have a talk," she said, looking up from the kitchen table.
The opportunity that presented itself here did not go unnoticed by Jon. All he'd have to do is get his fake mother to enter his sister's bedroom. But would he want to? For the first time since this "game" had started, Jon considered not returning someone to their "place of origin", as the unknown caller had called it. Maybe having Zoe end up with his mother's personality might not be such a bad idea.
And there was always Karyn to think of. If he changed Zoe back to normal, then the remaining people he had to fix would swap around again, leaving him in the dark as to who Karyn would be in the new reality.
"Sit down," his fake mother said, sternly.
