"I'm not a taxi. I'm not someone to play jokes on. If I didn't know your mother, I'd let you walk," the fake Mrs. DeVries (Karyn) said.
"But ..." Jon began to say, but she shushed him. It was hard to see Karyn's face act like this. With his head down in defeat, he got in the car and was taken home.
The fake Mrs. DeVries dropped him off in front of his house, and then he went inside to regroup.
He couldn't believe it. Karyn was right there! He was so close to getting her back to normal.
"Jon? Is that you?" he heard a woman ask. It must have been his new fake mother.
He sighed, then walked into the kitchen. That's where he heard the voice. He wondered who his new fake mother would be.
