The moment Jon stepped into the hallway, he saw Jay Duncan and he was totally back to normal. Behind Jay was the fake Athena, the same one that came to the Farber house with him.
But then, the hallway began to shimmer and Jay suddenly disappeared.
"No!" Jon yelled. Jay was back to normal. What happened?
Then the face of the fake Athena changed. This time, he recognized it. It belonged to Nadine Ferguson, an uptight religious girl who went to school with him. It was strange seeing her wear Athena's witch-like outfit.
After the hallway stopped shimmering, the new fake Athena walked towards him. "What happened to my mom?" she asked him. "You said she'd turn back to normal."
Suddenly, Jon's cell phone rang. He answered it.
"Good job, Jon," the raspy voice said. "One down, many to go."
"What happened to Jay?" he asked over the phone.
"Who's Jay?" the fake Athena asked.
"He's been redistributed, back into the mix. Oh, did I forget to tell you about that? Every time you change someone back to normal, everyone else who hasn't been changed back to normal yet switches around again."
"You son of a bitch. You mean that Karyn is ..."
"Someone else now, yes. And thanks to you returning Steve back to normal, you probably won't know who she is now. But good luck to you anyway. You're gonna need it." Then the line went dead.
"Tell me what's happening," the fake Athena demanded.
