"Well?" Jon asked. "How 'bout it?"
"Fine," the fake Athena said. "We'll get Steve back to normal. But you're sure this will get my real mother back, right?"
"I'm sure." Truthfully, though, Jon wasn't. He assumed that everyone had been swapped with each other, so if Steve was turned back to normal, then Athena's mother would be also. But what if they weren't straight swaps like that? What if the swaps were all random? The fake Athena didn't really need to know all of this, and for the moment, it was best to keep her in the dark. He needed to get someone back to normal (if he knew he could return Steve to normal, then maybe he'd feel more confident about getting everyone else back to normal too, before the deadline), and if the fake Athena ever found out what Jon really thought, she might get in the way. And right now, he needed her help.
"So ... how do we get my mom to Steve's house?" she asked him.
