"I guess," Zoe admitted. "But sometimes I wish things were different, y'know?"
"Finish your drink," Morgan said. "Things always seem better after chocolate," she said, with a suddenly odd smile.
Zoe drank up the whole cup, and stood up. The room suddenly spun around her. "I feel kind of dizzy," she said, turning to Morgan.
She nearly jumped. Morgan was still standing there, but she had...changed. Same long dark hair, same smile...but she looked like she was fourteen.
"What the fuck?" Zoe said.
"You wished things were different, and you said your family was what you wanted different. So..." she looked at herself. "I guess they're my problem now."
Zoe grabbed her. "What are you talking about?"
"You wished things were different...so now you're the waitress and I'm the customer. And as far as anyone but us is concerned, it's always been that way." She grinned, a bit wickedly. "Hope you enjoyed the drink..."
Zoe released her, and looked down at herself...
