Kyla thought of it as the grand entrance, she had seen it done by Sarah and her crew and now it was her job, her turn to survey, and rule over, the halls of the school as she entered. She was picked up in the morning by Biff, who gave her a kiss and a lasting look as she entered his car, she really had him well trained (but this went both ways she would learn).They both lived within easy walking distance of the school but that wasn't the point, the point was to make an entrance so Biff would make sure to make a lot of noise as he pulled into the parking lot, an announcement of their arrival. She would find Tiffany, find out about any gossip or things she had missed and give her approval or disapproval on all of it. Then the rest of the squad would join her, Melissa, Amber, sometimes some other girl trying to fit in, all paying complements or looking for approval, and then finally, they would, lead by Kyla, enter the school and the crowds of lesser students would all take note of her as she passed, and she would go to class. It was the notice that mattered, because only she got it, and she got it because she commanded it, with confidence, grace, power and a little bit of fear too, as well as a certain amount of lust, these are teenage boys after all. Kyla had been in the crowd, but now she felt the call of the spotlight, and something in her was eager for the experience.
Sarah was just leaving as Biff pulled up, and Kyla noticed Biff gaze linger on Sarah once again, though she couldn't see Sarah redden and fluster at knowing he was looking. This lead to less of a kiss as she got in the car and more of peck, as Kyla felt real jealously flair up within her. "She wouldn't know what to do with you." Kyla warned Biff as his gaze caught her again as they passed in the car. "Believe me. I Know." and she found her hand slipping to his thigh, as Biff kicked it into higher gear, sending smoke and noise in the air as they turned the corner. Kyla wasn't one to make the first move, but this felt like she had to, she felt like she needed to fight to keep this. This was important. Keep Biff.
They exited the car, but Biff a now excited Biff wanted Kyla to make good on the promise of her touch, so some light making out happened, not sex, not here, but the kisses did seem to promise something coming she wasn't sure she was ready for. This was important.
Sarah left the house, confused...she was so focused on Kyla, on her new self, she had not even thought about school. The thought of a hall full of people used to fill her with a sense of entitled pleasure, but now she just felt a sort of dread. She had sorted her look. She felt...Ok about it...she couldn't bring herself to feel good. Confident, Sarah! BE CONFIDENT!! As she left she could see Biff pulling up, it was a familiar feeling, she had seen this a hundred times, but this time it wasn't for her. They caught eyes for just a second as he passed and Sarah immediately felt all the blood rush to her face. She wanted him in a way she had never wanted him before, and now it felt impossible. She quickened her pace, but of course headed to the same place they passed her again and she could swear he slowed down for a second, or maybe it was just hope that he would. "notice me" she begged to the air as the roar of his engine over took all other sound.
The first thing that Tiffany asked about was about Sarah, the school was abuzz about how Kyla had made Sarah hot now. What did this mean for the group, was Sarah going to be a cheerleader? The other girls quickly joined to get their orders. Kyla's mind once again went to work, her mind for science and math now working the social problem of being queen of the school. It was just like chess. She made Mellissa official envoy to Sarah, but this was a trial run, she wasn't allowed "full membership" something Kyla just said into existence. Everyone else was to treat her like they always had. This was Kyla's command.
Sarah spent a moment outside the school, seeing in the distance Kyla making out with Biff and trying to stop a wave of sadness and anger from overtaking her. She would not cry. if only because it would ruin everything, but inside she was a wreck. Kyla made her way over to Tiffany and Sarah's former friends....did Sarah even have friends now? She took a second to take stock of herself. Breath in. Breath out. Hair, cute and combed. Make up, innocent with a extra attention paid to her lashes and lips to make her eyes stand out and her voice be heard. Clothing, just enough shown off. Posture. Damn it...she had fallen into a slouch but she pricked herself up. This was battle, time for war. She took a step and was surprised when the door opened for her.
Kyla stood at the front of the hall, a mass of students before her. All eyes on her. For the first time this felt good, she felt powerful. She raised her hand and within 20 seconds most everyone had turned to give her their full attention. Teachers didn't get that response, but she did.
"What you've heard is true! I took on a little project this weekend and I think it worked out pretty well. I give you the new Sarah"
and Kyla opened the door.
Sarah walked through the doors to a hallway full of people, all staring at her in a shocked silence. Everyone, even teachers, were looking at her. In Sarah's mind this was normal, but in her body fight or flight took over. She panicked, felt ill, felt horror, felt fear, and frozen for a second that seemed to last forever while everyone took the new her in. Then she did it. She dropped everything and she ran right into the door behind her, gracelessly and with the flight of an animal on fire. Kyla nodded at Melissa to be on friend duty and follow her. The crowd erupted into applause which Kyla soaked in, as she took a bow. This was about her. This was always about her and it always would be. Sarah poured through the door at speed with Melissa following behind, and a late Jay wandering out in front of her, completely unaware of any of anything. Everyone else went to class.
