He left his room and made his way down the hall towards the bathroom. As he neared the bathroom, he saw his young cousin Sally coming out.
He'd nearly forgotten Sally was spending the night. She did that more often of late. His aunt Sharon was looking to move back to town to be closer to his mom. With everything that was going on in his aunt's life, sometimes she needed someone to watch her young daughter.
"Hi, Jon," she said, perkily. "Want to play?"
"No, thanks, Sally. I have to take a shower and get ready for school. I have a big test today."
Sally pouted a bit at that. "Maybe later?" She asked, hopefully.
"Maybe," he said.
Sally pouted a bit more. No one ever wanted to play with her around here.
