"What the fuck is going on?!" Zoe yelled.
"Just calm down. I ... I can explain," Jon said. He really didn't want to, but he didn't have much of a choice. All three of them were different ages now. The cat was out of the bag, basically. "It's my inheritance. The one I got from Grandpa. It's an artifact that he found in South America. It caused this to happen. I know it sounds unbelievable, but it's the truth." He left out the fact that the artifact could grant wishes, but there was no need to include that part.
"Well use it to change us back," Linda said.
"I could. But I left it in my room and, well, it's not my room anymore," he said, pointing.
Zoe and Linda peeked into the room. Zoe smiled, feeling relieved, as she walked into the bedroom. "All my stuff is still here." She paused. "And some new stuff too," she said, picking up what looked like a human skull from a bookshelf. That wasn't real, was it?
"Reality is different. If I'm supposed to be the father of this family, maybe it wasn't sent to me. Maybe it was sent to either of you."
"Father of the family?" Zoe asked, spinning around towards him.
