"So what are we going to do?" Zoe asked.
"We need a wish that will fix things, but not make them worse. Better to ask for less than more, I think."
Zoe nodded. "They aren't acting like themselves. I've never seen Mom act like such a...well, bitch. Mikey's just the same."
"Well, are they just acting that way with each other, you think?" Jon asked.
"How about I take Mom and you take Mikey?" Zoe said.
"Great," he said.
Zoe took the stone. "I'll hold onto this."
"Why?" He asked.
"Well, you did make that interesting wish," she said. "What if you accidentally do something like that again?"
He frowned. "I'm sorry, sis. I guess this is all my fault."
She looked at him. "It wasn't on purpose. And I made a stupid wish of my own too," she said, pointing to her hair. I figure we've both learned our lessons."
Jon nodded and handed her the stone. She was always so level headed...at least, now she was, he realized, post wish.
They split up. Zoe stuck the stone away and went to talk to her mother. Jon headed up to Mikey's room.
