Jon's mother eagerly escorted Xiao from one shop to another, buying her skirts and tops, underwear and shoes, even accessories like jewelry. Jon was very embarrassed in the beginning, trying on girl's clothes, but the excitement and joy that her mother was showering on her was infectious, and soon she was happily trying on one dress after another. She had never paid that much attention when Jon was a boy... she was rather distant, in fact. Now that he was a she, and not even related anymore, she ironically treated him, her, far better than before.
After 2 hours, Xiao and Mrs Madison left carrying 4 or 5 bags in each hand, and smiles on their faces. "thank you so much, mo..., I mean, Mrs Madison," Xiao said. "I never have so many clothes before!"
"Oh, that's so cute, you almost called me mom! Well, you go right ahead, for the next year you are my daughter!"
"Ok, thank you, mom..."
When they got home, Mrs. Madison called out, "Jon, come help carry packages!" Zoe came down, grabbed an armload, and carried them upstairs. Jon/Xiao carried the rest up to her new room, which had previously been Zoe's room, but now looked very different. It had new furniture, no pictures or posters, and a fresh coat of paint... apparently the Madisons had just converted the room into a bedroom recently for their new exchange student.
When Jon and Zoe were alone in the room, Zoe put the packages on the bed and exclaimed "How much stuff did she buy you? She never bought me this much when I was her daughter."
"I think she compen... uhm, making out for lost time?" Xiao said.
"Haha, you mean making UP for lost time... yeah, I guess so, she never had a daughter in this reality."
"You find way switch us yet?" Xiao asked hopefully.
"No, but I did find another spell. SLEEP!"
Xiao instantly fell unconscious onto the bed. Zoe, in Jon's body, grinned and leaned over to whisper in her ear. "When you wake up you will only go by the name Xiao Lee. You do not remember ever having any other name. You are an exchange student from China, you've never been to America before, though you've read all about it and seen movies. My name is Jon Madison, and I have no other name in your mind. Whenever I and only I tell you to sleep, you will immediately drop into a deep hypnotic sleep, open to my suggestions once again. Nod your head if you understand."
Xiao nodded her head, without opening her eyes.
"Ok, good, now for a bit of fun. When you go to school tomorrow, you will join the anime and cosplay club. You will dress up as an embarrassingly sexy female character for each event the cosplay club attends. The tighter and sexier the costume, the better. Do you understand?"
Xiao nodded her head once again.
"Good, now, when I count to 3 you'll wake up and have no memory of this conversation, or that I cast a hypnosis spell on you. 1, 2, 3!"
Xiao opened her eyes. "Oh, so sorry Jon, I must have fall asleep or something..."
"That's ok Xiao, between your long flight from China and the whirlwind shopping trip with mom, I'm sure you're tired. And you've got school tomorrow, so get some rest."
