Jon seemed relieved. He didn't want to get on her bad side. He wanted to make sure that she was always satisfied. After he finished breakfast, he did as the woman asked. And while Jon was busy disposing of the family portraits, the woman went upstairs to see Linda.
She didn't gave much thought to the unconscious teenager lying on the bed, focusing her energy on Linda for now.
"Listen to me, Linda...and believe everything I say," she cooed. Linda's eyes glazed over. "You are not in charge of this home. I am in charge, and you accept I am in charge and do not even think to question it. The idea that you are in charge of this home will seem silly to you. You have other concerns..."
She began to outline them for Linda.
