"You are quite correct Human," said the little bee girl. Of course she didn't really know a lot about it herself, but the Leslie was clearly onto something. Humans, and particularly those sciency types saw patterns in those strange numbers. Hex floated around with ease, buzzing around them. "Six is quite a special number... she is the last magic girl and because of some rather unique properties this number can exist in two different forms. She is very strong, very powerful... the most powerful magic girl, in some ways. She can tap into all the powers of the numbers, and beyond... if she feels enough-"
There was another bright flash as Magic girl six appeared before them. Once on Earth, now in this strange metaphysical world. She fell down slightly in a heap, kneeling down. Her hair, a brilliant shade of pink, stretched outward in six tails running down her face. The girl stared at them all and worse, had heard their conversation. She felt so much 'rage' as she got up, a sudden burst of her magical power making the ground shake.
At the magical burst of energy, everyone fell to the ground overcome by the force. The only one still standing was the 'pesudo' magic girl Six, Bryan. The little girl glanced around as the others were trampled by the invisible power, but it didn't affect her. A single glowing die appeared in her hand... her magic weapon. She held it outward instinctively, as it encased her body in a cubical shield. She gasped at this, but then managed to move the power to protect all her companions. Leslie, and the two cat-girl twins.
The voice of magic girl six spoke, angrily from her pedestal, much as an angry goddess. "If I was so important to the cosmos, why didn't I take part in the battle with the enemy!" the girl shouted with anger and spite. There was so much rage in her voice. "I was selected, I was chosen... my entire life was destroyed because of you! Because of all of you! I hate you all!"
Leslie, and the two cat girls slowly got up from the ground. Holy crap she was em-blazed with so much power! "What's wrong with her!" Leslie asked taking cover behind the magical shield.
Hex took cover with him. "Her magic is fueled by emotion and she's bottled it up for so long. she's always had this rage deep down, and this world has manifested it! We have to calm her down!"
Despite being behind the shield, the twin cat-girls fell into the ground. Esme and Cliff stumbled, but for some reason Esme looked the worst for wear. Still she got up and was ready to protect her sister. She was breathing heavily, a dagger in hand. "Don't worry sis... I'll protect you." Cliff could only cower behind her alarmed.
The temple started to crumble at the onslaught. Stone slabs were turning to dust, as the sheer might and power of the magic girl flared out. "It's always the same! I just wanted to have an easy simple life playing sports. But what happens? I get chosen. But worse! I'm just put on the bench on the bloody reserve team! I was never called to make a difference. You just had me to balance the game. There had to be a magic girl six, and that was going to be me. That was it!"
Bryan suddenly turned wide eyed. Those words... she had heard them a few times from her old room mate when in college. Someone who resented being in reserve, unable to show his talents... "Jack!" She shouted in recognition.
The magic girl suddenly stopped. All the damage to the temple, had halted. It was like passing through the eye of a storm, as the two eyes locked to eachother.
Jack trembled. "H-How... do you know... who I am..." she whispered, her voice confused.
Her counterpart, the pseudo magic girl Six looked up at her wide eyed. "It's... It's me... Bryan," said the little girl, as she looked at Jack cautiously and of course sounding nothing like she used to. The powerful magic girl was looking at her now, with her full attention. Bryan rubbed the back of her hair. "Is... it really you?"
Esme glanced at Cliff. "Uh, awkward moment here. I'm just going to sit down now." She sat on the floor. "you okay Sis?"
Cliff could only nod as she watched silently. She sat by her 'sister'.
Jack started to walk down the stairs from the pedestal. She felt a horrible mix of emotion as she observed her old friend, from before she had this fate thrown to her. Well... now both of them had changed. Both of them were girls... both of them magic girl six, where there can... and should only be one. "Bryan... no... it can't be," she whispered. "You were changed... into a little girl?" The confusion knocked her power out, as it died down. She bit her lip as she realised all the damage she had caused.
Leslie breathed a sigh of relief. "Bryan hatched out of an egg in this universe," explained the scientist. "She... grew up a bit since then." He glanced to Bryan who pouted at that..
"Heh," Jack laughed, the last of her darker magics fading. "Well, that's not the strangest thing I guess considering all the weird things I've seen." Finally in arms reach, she lowered down to Bryan. "Well... if anyone was going to be a magic girl, I'm glad it was you. I know you wanted to do something special... you ran out to the sun an' all, hoping for that. Congratulations. Some would say you won the lottery of transformations."
"It wasn't the sun," said Bryan. "I went out in the sun every day, even after it changed. I wanted to change so badly... but I never did." The little girl admitted annoyed. This though was hardly the change she wanted.
"So how did you manage it?"
"It... it was a planet. Planet made of clocks stuff," she explained. "A wish machine. I wished for magic... the machine there sorta... did this to me."
Hex tilted her head. "Oh, Chrono's planet?" she thought. "I didn't think he had one. But I guess that makes sense. You are a bit of a paradox after all."
Jack sighed and held up her die. "Here Bryan." She offered the strange weapon to her. "I wasn't much of a 'magic girl'. But you wanted to be a hero so... I guess it's yours. If I give this to you, there should only be one of us and everything should sort itself out."
Bryan looked at the die, but held out her own. "I... got one too." The two dices looked identical. Two that look to be a set...
Hex huffed. "It doesn't work that way Jack," said the bee girl. "As much as Bryan might want to be a magic girl, she can't be. You were chosen you are and will always be magic girl six."
"Whoa-" said Bryan startled. "Who said anything about me wantin' to be a girl! I just wanted magic!"
Jack looked annoyed at her animal companion. "So let her do the job, it isn't for me. I don't want it!"
There was a rubble at the temple. Leslie glanced up. "Hm... I think the structure of this place might be in question." The roof looked like it could go at any moment. A pillar had been knocked down. "Let's take our leave and talk outside. Cliff? Esme? We're going now." The group proceeded to move with as much haste to exit the temple.
Cliff tugged on Esme who had yet to move from her sitting position. "Esme? Uh- s-sis?" She didn't really like calling her that but..
It took a moment for Esme to respond. "Oh- .. yeah. Sorry Sister, I'm.. afraid you'll have to go without me." her voice was a bit distant, but terribly apologetic.
"What?" Cliff blinked. What in the world was she talking about?
She sighed as she showed a gaping wound, on her left side. It dripped with a little blood. "I've...kinda been poisoned by that trap. So.. that's it for me. Sorry."
Cliff stared. Of course... someone always died at this dungeon. Always. An unbreakable rule... That's what she knew... and it has come to pass. "L-leslie!" She shouted. "Please help! Esme's badly hurt!" No! She couldn't let her die again! Not like... this! She started trying to lift her up.
"..what are you doing sis?"
"Shut up!"
She stumbled as the temple shuddered and shook. It wouldn't be long before the roof caved in.
