A storm was brewing above the Madison house- and ONLY the Madison house.
Jen glanced up to the strange storm, then at the strange slug women at her front door that looked so similar to her, as multicoloured lightning started to run through the clouds spontaneously.
"Oh hell!" Jen placed a hand over her mouth.
The ground shook subtly, as the Iridescent storm started striking objects, turning them into different colours. The lamp post became a weird purple, part of the side walk turned yellow... a car that had some occupants in it was hit and turned bright pink! (the car seemed to continue oblivious to this.)
Jen watched all this and feeling no choice she brought the three time travellers inside her house before they too was struck by the lightning and god knows what happen. "What the hell are you three doing!"
Ernestine looked shocked. Did this happen before? She couldn't remember. She was fairly sure it didn't go this way though.. right? "We're here to help!" said the slug girl.
Jen face-palmed. "Remind me to teach you more about paradoxes! Where is Ernestine- my Ernestine!"
Lilly hearing what was going on quickly went upstairs to find her little brother Gwydion and Ernestine playing with the stone. Her heart nearly jumped. "What did you wish for!"
Gwydion glanced to his big sister. "I was jus' trying to get someone that could help daddy!"
Jen and the three future visitors had entered the house, and now there was a big problem.
A VERY big problem.
...three people existed in duplicate at the same time. One, existing within Jen... the other two as children near the stone.
"How is this even possible?" said Lilly. "The stone has a range limit. It can't bring people from other times... can it?"
Ernestine- that is the future Ernestine was quick to offer an explanation. "The future isn't actually that far away 'right now'. You see-"
"No! We can't have future knowledge. God look! Its an iridescent storm out there!" Jen was practically fuming. How in the world did her daughter get hold of the stone? It was supposed to be locked! Why did she wished for this in the first place!
Lilly felt her fur prickle... the lightning was becoming more intense. This magical storm... she could sense it... building, reaching its final climax. History was seeking to correct itself... reality had certain rules. This was the FIRST principal of time travel, and one Lucas had let the fledging magic user on:
"Remember Lilly... Two people can not exist in the same form at the same time..."
... but Lucas didn't really say much on what the consequences would be, if this principal was violated. It looked like they were about to find out.
"Get down!" The squirrel screamed.
Suddenly a large arc of powerful multicoloured lightning descended down upon them... it blew the roof of the house, exposing all the occupants to the full force of the clouded sky... objects and posessions were thrown in the wind, even the stone was reacting becoming burning hot as it flew into the vortex by the wind.
Lightning was concentrated mostly on the two versions of Gwydion and Erenestine, although the third slug girl... felt a little prickle, as did Jen at the pit of her stomach. This.. could not be good.
... then it was as if time reversed. The roof of the house was slowly put back... chaos was turned back to order, as time's arrow changed direction. Papers were put back to where they once were... the house was restored.
... and the storm ended.
Jen groaned as she got up. "...Okay... what... just happened?"
