Jon pushed his bedroom door open and he made a lunge for his dresser. He reached for the spot where he had left the stone, but his fingers only brushed air, the stone wasn't there. Jon began to search his whole room in a panic.
Dang it! Where's the stone? I know I left it right on the dresser before I went to sleep last night! Jon said to himself as he continued to search.
He then headed toward his bed, when his foot caught the leg of his chair, tripping him, and sent him tumbling to the floor. As Jon fell, he reached out for anything to stop his fall and his hand latched onto the curtains on his window; pulling them down with him. Sunlight spilled into Jon's bedroom, bathing everything in its pale violet color. Jon froze in his attempt to get up when he felt the heat of the sun's rays on his back.
Oh no! I'm going to change! What am I going to become?
Jon closed his eyes and waited for his changes to begin...and waited...and waited...and waited. He finally opened his eyes and quickly stood up. Jon quickly checked himself over and found himself strangely, unchanged.
That's weird, why didn't the sunlight affect me? he thought to himself, when something hit his window.
TINK
Jon slowly stepped toward his window, when a small stone hit the glass pane.
TINK
Jon slowly raised the window and started to lean his head out when another stone flew up.
THUNK!
"Yeow!" yelped Jon as he pressed a hand against his forehead and leaned farther out his window, "Alright now, whose there and why are you throwing stones at me?"
Down below a feminine gasp was heard shortly followed by a melodious voice speaking in a strange language, one that Jon could apparently understand.
"Oh! I am so sorry Jon, I didn't mean to hit you. I didn't hear you open your window!" the voice sounded familiar.
"Well, uh, I forgive you...uh, just out of curiosity, but who are you?" Jon asked as he leaned further out the window, still rubbing his forehead.
"It's me Jon-boy! Karyn, you know, your best friend?" said the person standing below his window sarcastically.
Jon stared down at her in shock for a moment.
"Karyn!? Your a...your a..." stuttered Jon.
Karyn sighed as she looked down at the ground. When she brought her eyes back up, Jon could just make out tears sliding down her cheeks.
"_Yes, Jon. I'm a..."
