"Exposure to the blue rays of the sun makes people int o superheroes," explained the reporter, who was safe inside a studio. "Our reporters have confirmed this through ... firsthand experience."
The footage changed to a blonde reporter underneath the words "earlier this morning." In one hand she held a microphone while the other pointed to the strangely hued sun in the sky. Even as she pointed, a peculiar look came over her face. The sleeves of her fashionable, yet professional, jacket were changing. The shone for a few moments, and then seemed to melt as they drew up along her form. The rest of her attire changed tomatch it until she appeared to be wearing nothing more than a spandex body suit. Her hair transformed from a professional bob to a much longer style and, if Jon wasn't mistaken, her breasts increased in size from a conservative "a" to a more pronounced "c". A bright gold Lycra mini-skirt and a mask with stylized circles completed her getup.
The camera swung around to the reporters crew. The also seemed to have under gone similar changes. Their costumes, however, were much more sinister in appearance than the reporters. Several now held wicked looking weapons in addition to their camera equipment. For a few seconds they all stared at each other confused before an explosion in the background caused the cameraman to drop the camera, giving Jon a good look at what had happened to the man.
Where before, Jon knew, there had been a man in his mid to late 30's there now stood a woman in a tight leather costume and a severe set of braids. She glared for a long moment at the reporter-co
e- here and the pointed one leatherclad finger, "kill her" she ordered.
The rest of the crew, almost as one, drew their weapons and fired on the blonde. She braced herself as beams of energy and bulletts exploded out of the weapons yet, as they came near, a golden energy shield rose up and blocked the shots. The energy beams bounced back, smashing the thurgs to the ground as the blonde engaged the leatherbound villIness. The twovegan to fight until the camera, caught the middle of the titanic struggle, was destroyed.
"What are we going to do?" asked Jon's father Mark. "We can't hide in here forever. We need food, among other things. There's enough in the refrigerator to last us ..." Mark looked at his wife questioningly.
"One day," stated Linda. "I was supposed to go shopping today! But if I leave, I'll ... change ..."
Jon ran up the stairs back to his bedroom. If the stone somehow changed the world, maybe it can change it back! he thought.
